I had a very productive day. Started out in the morning when I awakened to sun drifting out through fog. Spent less time than usual on the computer but I did get to chat on FB with one of my dear friends.
I next went on to fulfill my reputation for geekiness by proceeding to complete all of my biology homework/reading through next Thursday. Epic.
Did various farm chores: picked apples, napped [or pretended to] in the afternoon sun on the grass, gathered wild apples, sliced apples for the food dryer, caught roosters, palmed off one rooster and a hen on unsuspecting victims, fixed the stuck knob on the food dryer, cooked the lovely mushrooms that I had been meaning to cook all week [with tofu]
I have also been engulfed in a swarm of theatre issues. The Fourth Edition of the script resides on my desk, under pages covered with my signature messy handwriting, delineating strategies for pulling off a successful production.
-Set design?
-Curtain! [we have a dreadful problem with the curtain, the main issue being that it doesn't exist....yet. I have wild schemes for constructing something out of 2x4s. Does anyone have any input?]
-casting
-costumes: final decision
etc etc etc
EDIT:
And an update on the job situation: my parents decided they don't want me to work at fast-food unless all else fails [WHEW!!!] but I think I will put in an app. at Trader Joe's which is opening in our town in a few months. I'd still far prefer to work at the Co-op but oh well. So things are on an even keel for now.... don't buy anything, and keep an eye out for odd jobs. :/

things
How many emails have I titled "things"??
The sky is an absolutely insane coppery orange colour. It clouded over earlier and I've never seen a sky like this. I took a photo but who knows if it'll turn out.
Farmers' market this morning; very nice. At one of the stands there was this fellow who looked exactly like Billy Boyd (Pippin in LotR). I've never seen anyone so hobbity looking. Curly longish hair, rough shirt, slightly grubby feet. Oh serendipity.
A few hours working at my grandma's---painting walls with clear-coat, and clipping grass and brush.
Then home, where I spent way too long catching up on people's blogs...that dashboard sure does fill up quickly!
And out to play with the goats. Oh, they are so. cute.
I weeded the garden for a few hours this evening; it's been terribly neglected. There are various random happy little sprouts here and there, where I scattered seed earlier. "Oh look! There's some more lovage! Eh--no, it's a blackberry. (pause, while I prick my fingers on thistles) Is that a rabbit? Good grief that's the biggest rabbit I've ever seen. So much for the fence. Miserable fat thing, sitting there eating my garden. (I chase rabbit out, squishing the carefully nourished soil beneath my feet in doing so).
I brewed another batch of mugwort tea. It's good for encouraging dreaming.
Shall I, or shall I not, change my blog colour scheme? I rather fancy green, again.

Last night I saw "The Music Man" at the local theatre...very nice performance. I practically came out of there singing "76 Trombones". And a few of my ballet friends were dancing--fun to actually know some people.
We are continuing to work at my grandmother's place. A lot of heavy lifting, taking screws out, organizing, painting. My grandfather, during his lifetime, amassed a huge quantity of nails, bits of metal, and screws. There's a joke I could make here, but I won't. lol.
Today I did lunch in town with one of my friends--a lot of fun. She's finally succumbed to getting a Facebook account. I am considering taking the plunge--or rather, taking the plunge of asking my parents!
And my friend and I hatched a plan! I have, for the past year or two, wanted to have a big party in one of the grass-seed fields around our house after the grass has been cut [in agreement with the farmer of course]. She was totally excited about it, and we're in the planning stages. I mean, just think how fun: partying under the moon on a long summer night in the middle of a field!!
I don't know who all is reading this, but if you live in the area, you'll probably be invited!
